The Ramp’d Up Freestyle Motocross Arena is back at Motorcycle Live for 2012, and not only is it bigger, more technical and more creative than ever before, it is completely free! There will be up to three shows a day for the duration of Motorcycle Live, which takes place at The NEC, Birmingham from 24 November to 2 December 2012.
Top names already signed up to appear include super-smooth Swede Fredrik ‘Frog’ Berggren, big-air busting Brits Jamie Squibb and Dave Wiggins, plus German rider Hannes Ackermann and his brother Luc – the fearless 15-year-old who appears in the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest rider ever to back-flip a full-sized motorcycle, an amazing feat he performed at the tender age of 12.
With a hand-picked group of the world’s leading freestyle motocross riders whipping and back-flipping across the ultimate indoor motorcycle playground (created from over 3,000 tonnes of dirt), Ramp’d Up is quite simply the most spectacular, jaw-dropping, mind-blowing visitor attraction at Motorcycle Live. But don’t take out word for it – here’s what visitors to the 2011 show (and one of the star riders) had to say…
“Fantastic. I’d never seen any Freestyle Motocross before and was mesmerized by the talent of these youngsters. Their stunts were breathtaking and when several went out at the same time you didn’t know where to look. I’ll definitely go again.” – Graham Lawn, 41, Derby
“Absolutely fantastic, such a spectacle.” – Jonathon Putman, 28, Bourne
“The Ramp’d Up arena was the biggest FMX course we had seen anywhere last year and we go to loads of freestyle shows. The riders were all world class, throwing back flips, side by side whips and loads more. We visited it every day to see it again from all angles. They even had world champion mountain bikers throwing big tricks with the Animal roadshow.” – Mick Datitz Fenwick, 42, Tiverton
“Fantastic. I was thinking of taking up MX it was so thrilling to watch.” –Deborah Pellegrini, 36, Chester
“Ramp’d Up was my favourite element. It’s brilliant, and free! So doubly brilliant!” – Emily Mason, 23, Newbury
“I love performing at Ramp’d Up. The course is always challenging, the crowd really get into it and their reaction means that as riders we feed off each other which pushes us to go bigger, longer and higher . Just the fact we’ve no wind to deal with means we can really cut loose”. –Fredrik Berggren, Ramp’d Up rider
Ramp’d Up is just one of the exciting live features at this year’s show. The all-inclusive Motorcycle Live ticket gives access to five exhibition halls crammed with all the latest bikes, clothing and accessories and six opportunities to ride a bike**, plus non-stop entertainment from some of the biggest names in biking and the BSH/Streetfighters Custom Xtreme Zone, the Yamaha Escape Zone and the Classic Zone in association with Coventry Transport Museum.
