FMX RIDER OF THE DECADE VOTE Legends Day 6 – Carey Hart

Carey Hart was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 17, 1975. His parents divorced when he was very young and he and his younger brother Anthony “Tony” Hart were raised by their father, Tom Hart. Hart began competing in motocross races in 1981 at only 6 years old, turned professional in 1993 when he was 18 and began competing in super cross racing at that time. Hart then began competing in freestyle motocross (FMX) in 1996.

During the 2000 Gravity Games, Carey attempted a back flip in a motorcycle competition. He also invented a freestyle motocross trick known as the Hart Attack.

Hart also has his own film directed by Johnny Vegas “Good times with Carey Hart” The film tells the true life story of Hart’s career and how he accomplished the back flip.

Carey has traveled the globe putting freestyle Motocross on the map. Along the way he has jumped the trailer park in Kid Rock’s video “Bawitdaba” and saw his dream to play bass with the band Penny wise come true on the 2000 Australian Warped Tour and appeared in P!nks ‘Just Like A Pill’ and ‘So What’ Videos.

He has been featured in nationwide ad campaigns for Ford, Dunkin Donuts, Fox, DVS and Mountain Dew as well as in such print publications as Paper Magazine, Teen People, EXPN The Magazine, Rolling Stone, Prick, Skinnie and has graced the covers of numerous Motocross & tattoo magazines.

Carey has also appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, Inked, MTVs Life Of Ryan, Rove Live (Australia), appeared on The Today Show, was a guest in Talkin’ ’bout Your Generation and has starred in ESPN/Touchstone Pictures’ IMAX film, Ultimate X and has cameo appearances in xXx and Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle and Pink’s videos Just Like a Pill and “So What”. Carey also appeared as a cast member on the fifth season of the VH1 reality show The Surreal Life.
