Joan Barreda Wins Baja Spain 2012 On Husqvarna TE44

The Spanish rider Joan Barreda , part of the HUSQVARNA RALLY TEAM by Speedbrain, took victory in this year’s rally BAJA SPAIN , the most important event of this specialty that takes place in Europe.

Barreda, on his Husqvarna TE449 has controlled without problems on the last day of the race the advantage gained in the previous steps, managing the day without risk of falls or mechanical problems. In this way completed the special stage of 202 kms with a comfortable pace that has allowed him to reach the podium located in Zaragoza with ease to score his first victory in the legendary Aragon test, ahead of Gerard Farres, who was second.

Joan Barreda: “Today’s race was completely different from yesterday. Foresaw many difficulties on the track due to the passage of cars and trucks and it has. My only goal was to control my advantage over my rivals, which is always difficult when you open the route and is difficult to get time references along the way. For this reason I have set a pace much slower than yesterday, so I have avoided risks and I could get a victory that has escaped me always the last years here. I hope to repeat success here in Zaragoza next year because this race is certainly a benchmark and could not be missed.

Join HUSQVARNA RALLY TEAM by SPEEDBRAIN is my great luck and gives me an extraordinary motivation. I am delighted to help with these results demonstrate that the enormous effort and the technical work being done are on the right direction.”
