All out assault from Husqvarna at Enduro World Championship finale

The Husqvarna Enduro Team by CH Racing will bring their participation in the 2012 Enduro World Championship to a close this coming weekend with team riders Juha Salminen, Matti Seistola, Lorenzo Santolino and Romain Dumontier competing in the eighth and final round of the series, the GP of France held in Brignoles.

Marking the end of what has been a long and challenging season for the Husqvarna Enduro Team, the final round of the series offers all competing team riders one last opportunity to secure podium success. For eight-time world champion Juha Salminen winning the Enduro 2 title is still a mathematical possibility. Currently third in the points standings, and 24 points behind class leader Pierre Alexandre Renet, were it not for the cruel loss of 20 championship points on day one in Argentina where a stone got stuck between his bike’s chain and front sprocket, Juha would be right in the championship fight. As it is the vastly experienced Finn will need each of his closest two championship rivals to run into troubles if he is to stand a realistic chance of becoming 2012 Enduro 2 World Champion.

Alex Salvini, Juha’s Enduro 2 class-mate, will not be competing in France, as he will be travelling to Australia to prepare for his participation in the Australian Four Day Enduro. In 2011 Salvini topped the Enduro 1 class at the A4DE, while also finishing fourth overall. Knowing what to expect from the event, Alex will be going all out for overall victory second time around.

The final round of the series is a highly important one for Enduro 1 class rider Matti Seistola. Currently fifth in the E1 championship standings, Matti is just four points behind third placed rider Thomas Oldrati. And with 40 points up for grabs in Brignoles the Finn will do all he can in order to claim a final championship rostrum position.

Lorenzo Santolino is also looking for a strong end to his 2012 EWC participation. Eighth in the E1 championship standings after seven rounds of the championship, Lorenzo will be focused on challenging for podium results in Brignoles.
