Belgian Kevin Strijbos currently rides a Suzuki 450 for the Rockstar Energy Suzuki World team in the MXGP class of the FIM Motocross World Championship. A five-time MX1 GP winner, including the 2005 GP of the Czech Republic at Loket and the 2007 GP of the Netherlands at Lierop, he finished the 2013 season in fourth place overall.
Kevin was born in Geel on 13th August 1985, and had his first bike at the age of three. He was racing competitively just a year later, and first made a major impression by winning the 1999 FIM Motocross World Cup in the Junior 125cc class, riding a Suzuki for the Bonenberg team.
He made his GP debut in 2000 in the 125cc class at the GP of Finland, and the following year, he rode a Yamaha as a privateer to overall victory in the 125cc class of the UEM Motocross European Championship. Kevin became a regular in the FIM World Championships in 2003, when he first joined up with Suzuki World team and finished ninth overall in the 250cc class.
He entered the MX1 competition for the first time in 2004, when he finished fifth overall, and his results have been impressive ever since, including second-place finishes in 2006 and 2007, and sixth in 2012, riding a KTM. Representing Belgium, he has also performed well in the FIM Motocross of Nations, winning the title in 2004, finishing third in 2005, and second in 2006.
