Alex Snow competes in the MX1 class of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship, riding a Honda for the Devon-based Phoenix Tools Rocket Honda team. With six of eight rounds in the 2014 season completed, he currently lies in eighth place overall, without podium finishes but with a series of consistent performances under his belt.
Alex was born on 27th March 1988 in Barnstaple, Devon and started riding in March 1999 on a Honda CR85, guided by his uncle. He won the NEC SX in 2003, made his British Championship debut at Waggadon Farm in 2004, and turned pro the following year.
Some of the highlights of his pro career have been his GP debut at Donington Park in 2007, victory in the under-21 British Championship in 2008 on a KTM 250F, and being crowned King of Dirt in 2010. Before signing for Phoenix Tools Honda in 2014, he had ridden for teams including Oakleaf Kawasaki, Lanes Kawasaki, Albion Kawasaki, KTM UK, Relentless Suzuki, Maximum Solutions Suzuki and Motocross World Honda.
In 2012, he finished 8th overall in the MX1 British Championships, but was unable to build on that performance in 2013, due to a shoulder injury which put him out of action for three months at the start of the season. He could only finish back in 18th place overall, although he did make the podium at that year’s Red Bull Pro Nationals.
