AMCA’s 80th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS – August Bank Holiday weekend!
Way back in 1932 AMCA first stepped into the breach to organise off road events for a growing number of keen amateur motorcyclists.
Since then tens of thousands of members have enjoyed participating in all manner of events from hill climbs to motocross events, from classic scrambles to football on trials bikes! – you name it they’ve done it all.
To celebrate the fact that the AMCA has reached it’s 80th Birthday a two day event will be held at Upton Court – the home of one of the AMCA’s oldest clubs Kinver Auto Club.
The event will take place over the August Bank Holiday Weekend of 26th and 27th August, and is hoped will include a modern / classic trial, a motoduro, a modern motocross and classic scramble.
All of the finer details are still being worked out but it looks set to be a great weekend where AMCA members – both old and new, can share experiences and meet up with old adversaries!
Put it in your diary and keep an eye on the website for developments!

After two recent cancellations, the AMCA Team Great Britain MX2 lads will be desperate to return to action. This weekend they make the very long journey to Mihlac D Auberoche in Southern France for round five of the 2012 IMBA European MX2 Championship. Top Brit at present is Lewis Abbott in 8th overall with Paul Neale 12th, Scott Mathia 15th and Shane Holmes 16th.
However there is a slight doubt regarding Abbott’s attendance in Milac as the South coast based rider is currently feeling the effects of a recent knee injury. Should Lewis not make the journey, the remaining three lads on duty will still be very confident of returning back across the Channel with a big points haul, Scott Mathia in particular, after the Cheshire rider was boosted by his maiden overall win during the AMCA Championship round at Long Lane.
Looking after Team AMCA GB in Milac will be former rider Colin Price, good luck to everyone involved.

The AMCA long established Clwyd and Chester Motocross Club are running their first event of the season at the sandy circuit of Norley in the heart of Cheshire on Sunday 1st July 2012. The club is always known to put on top quality race meetings and this Sunday is sure to be no different.
The hillside venue is always an enjoyable one for riders with its deep sand, hills, and well established jumps and other impressive features.
The venue, which sees the AMCA’s prestigious MX1 and MX2 Championships return for its penultimate round of the 2012 season, is frequently a true test for rider’s skill and endurance! Spectators are also welcomed, and it is sure to be a good one for them too! Stand out riders include local rider Stephen Tillotson, MX1 Championship front runner!
To book in, for what is sure to be a stand out day, phone the event secretary, Andrew Mackie on 07877 77391. Classes include 85cc 9years and up, up to adult solo! Spaces are available for late entries, freedom of choice, and one day licences! So don’t delay, for a great days racing at one of the best circuits in the UK, book in now!

Dunham top Brit in the Sand
Lee Dunham was the top Brit in the Dutch sand at Oss, posting a gutsy 12th Overall in the tough conditions, Michael Reynolds was 16th with Clinton Barrs 17th and Lee Payne 32nd. Full results will be available on the AMCA website.

Bolton Double Day event
On the 26th/27th August Bolton MXC will be hosting a double day event at Bleakhall Farm. As well as motocross, the sidecar lads will be racing on one of the days. Camping will be available and pie and peas will be on offer during the evening by the caterer. Booking will be available for the bank holiday weekend in coming weeks online or by your club.”
