Runner up spot for Daniel Thornhill at the Masters

Runner up spot for Daniel Thornhill at the Masters

Good Friday on our way to Foxhills Motor Park for the second round of the British Masters, weather leading up to the weekend had been good, no rain, and we were hoping for the track to be watered.

Friday night our prayers were answered rain, woke up to drizzle, which slowly cleared through the day leaving showers, third out for qualifying; the track was a bit slick in places, good qualifying, qualified 2nd behind Liam Garland.

First race not too bad a start second to Garland and pushing hard made a few mistakes and eventually finishing 2nd.

Second race, went to the line in a slight shower, but did not dampen Dan, he came out the gate like a rocket, round the first and second turn into the lead followed by the pack, Garland chasing, a mistake by Garland, let Dan’s lead widen, and take the race win.

Easter Sunday saw the weather a little better than Saturday, sighting lap straight into the third race, not a bad start about third out of the gate, pushing through chasing Garland to eventually finishing second.

Fourth race, gated third again, pushed really hard into the first two corners, and took the lead, was pulling away from the pack when disaster struck, jumped down one of the long hills, at the bottom the front wheel washed and Dan went down. Got bike going, back on in third, a hard race had now developed had to pass Jay Thomas, a strong rider, 2 laps chasing hard and made a pass on Jay and took second, Dan could see Garland in his sights and pushed hard, pulling on him each lap, but time ran out for Dan and Garland took the race win, with Dan second.

Overall Result:

1st Liam Garland
2nd Dan Thornhill
3rd Jay Thomas
