All roads lead to Little Silver for this weekends BYMX championship

This weekend 15 – 16th May see’s the ACU Express Insurance BYMX Championship visit the most southerly venue in the calendar when it makes the trip to the Little Silver Moto Parc in Devon for round three of the Series.

Organised and run by the Little Silver Moto Club, who have been hard at work to make sure the track and the facilities are ready for this main British Youth Motocross Championship.

With two rounds done and dusted, it will be up to the championship leaders in all classes to show if they can master the fast and flowing hillside track at Little Silver.

In the Cobra backed Junior 65cc class Conrad Mewse will once again be out to impress the crowds as he leads the Championship by 33 points from Henry Williams in second place. Daniel Knight is in third place with some consistent riding and scores, but there is a host of other riders to watch who will take it to Mewse, and one of them could well be young flyer Sid Evans who is finding his form along with David Keet, and Will Keogh.

Ben Watson will once again take to the track in the PAR Homes Small Wheel 85 class, after dominating the first two rounds with nine wins out of nine. Callan Cooper is in second place just 57 points adrift of Watson, and another hard charger Connor Clark in third just 62 points behind, but only five points behind Cooper. A host of other riders are also in the mix with the top boys, ones to watch out for are Tom Neal, Liam Knight and the vastly improving Matthew Callaghan. This class is one to watch as Watson must keep his wits about him as the others try to chase him down.

In the Big Wheel 85 Class its another story as Ryan Houghton leads the championship by just 16 points from yet another Watson family member Nathan Watson, behind these two, James Dunn, Matthew Fleming, Sunny Thompson, Jake Millward and on form Luke Norris will all be riding hard to take the wins as this Championship class which is sure to go down to the wire to decide who wins the overall.

Josh Waterman will be hoping to extend his lead in the PAR Homes Youth Open Class at Little Silver after Tommy Fenwick showed he was the master at Leuchars by taking all four wins. Josh having to settle for second place with four seconds after an up and down meeting. Waterman leads Jack Rowland by 58 points, but Rowland will be out to upset and take the points lead if all goes to plan. Lying in third place is young Ewan McLaren who has upped his pace and is just 72 points behind Waterman and 14 points behind Rowland’s. Yet another close championship class to watch as the boys go at it hard to take the wins.

The Adult Clubman class is being lead by Zac Stealey who is just 45 points ahead of second place man Peter Eccles, with Darren Richardson just 10 points behind Eccles in third. These adults are ones to watch as they battle hard for this new class for 2009 to become Adult Clubman Champions.

The track at Little Silver is located adjacent to the end of the M5 motorway near Exminster in Devon and will be sign posted from there. Anyone wanting the post code for their SatNav will get there using the postcode EX6 8BB.
