Steve Goddard, owner of Spanish trail-riding holiday experience, Touratrail, is set to take part in the famous Dawn to Dusk enduro event in South Wales on 27/28 August 2011. Fundraising for Cancer Research UK and the Raynauds and Scleroderma Association, Steve will ride a Husqvarna TE310 for 24 hours around the 18 mile course.

Steve said: “Most of us have had friends or family affected by cancer as have my partner and I and we’ve seen first hand the effects of RSA. I wanted to do something for these worthy charities and Dawn to Dusk will certainly challenge me! I am not just asking for donations, I am personally committing a lot of time and effort to deserve your contribution. Go to JustGiving to donate or if you have first hand experience of cancer or RSA contact me with your donation and I will be proud to add your name or the name of your friend/relative who has been affected by these diseases to the shirt I will be wearing during the event. I will be proud to ride carrying their names with me.”

Steve has a JustGiving page for donations online at . Choose if your donation is for one or both charities depending on your preference. We guarantee that 100% of any money donated will go to these charities.

Now in its 10th year, the Dawn to Dusk enduro race is one of the UK’s hardest and longest enduro events. Individuals and teams of up to four riders pit themselves against the mountain, the weather, and their own physical reserves for a whole night and day. Over 500 riders and up to 5,000 spectators are expected to descend on the mountainside course of “Walters Arena” in the upper Neath Valley over the 2011 August Bank Holiday weekend.

As Steve currently runs his off-road biking holiday business from Spain, he will be riding from Spain to the UK with some of his riding kit but the remainder has been supplied by sponsors. Although Steve has been riding motorcycles for more than 30 years, the 48 year old is still wary of the physical demands of such a challenge and he will be assisted by accomplished Dakar rider, Stan Watt and multiple British enduro champion, Wyn Hughes, who have both offered to train with him prior to the race, so he can regain some bike fitness before the big ride.

Husqvarna motorcycles are providing Steve with the bike, a TE310, one of the most popular and durable models in the range –

Thanks to an amazing group of commercial and private sponsors, Steve has already been offered several donations including: Adventure-Spec Ltd – Klim riding pants, Voltcom – assistance support & finance, Dawn to Dusk – free entry to event, Trailtech Products – loan of helmet light, Ezy-Tees Ltd – supply of race shirt, design & printing, Racefx – tyres, Stern Protection – body armour, Motodirect Ltd – Motul lubricants, Nevis Marketing Ltd – TCX boots and Great Yarmouth Printing Services are providing promotional posters.

If you would like to support Steve go to or text for free to 70070 and write TOUR63 for Cancer Research or TOUR64 for RSA and then add in your donation amount of either £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 or contact him at for a more personal pledge and for further information.
