Here’s Dan’s take on his day at Lyng.
Saturday saw us make the long trip to Lyng for the 3rd Round of the Maxxis, and 2nd Round for the MXY2.
The track looked good, and everything went very well for me in qualifying, qualified 2nd, made a good start in race 1 in 3rd, found myself pulling up into the lead by lap 3, and went on to win race one, with a few seconds to spare, which I was really pleased with.
Made a 5th place start in race 2, pulled up into 3rd within the end of the first lap, made a couple of mistakes which let the gap widen, managed to recalculate and pull up into second spot, and then pull up onto the leader, and then on the last lap he made a mistake which let me go on to win the race. I felt good but the luck was on my side.
I now lead the Championship with an 8 point lead, and hold the red plate, which I am over the moon with.
I would like to thank all my sponsors for all their help.
Overall on the day:
1st Dan Thornhill
2nd Chris Baylis
3rd Rob Muscat
