KTM UK will attend the British round of the Motocross World Championship at Matterley Basin in full force to make sure that orange is the dominant colour on and off the track from August 22-25.
On the stunning Winchester circuit, the UK subsidiary for the Austrian company will be supporting its two teams across the MX1, MX2, EMX250 and WMX classes – HM Plant KTM UK and Steve Turner Racing. Outside of the track tape will be competitions, giveaways and autograph sessions with KTM Factory riders.
Working closely with its Gosport-based dealer, Trevor Pope Motorcycles, the recently released 2014 range of two and four-stroke KTM SX models will be in the display area inside the paddock for people to have the opportunity to get up close to them and ask questions, in addition a varied selection of official KTM PowerParts and PowerWear will be available for fans looking to treat themselves.
KTM UK and Trevor Pope Motorcycles will be offering one lucky spectator the chance to win an Ogio travel case in a free to enter competition. Come Sunday’s race day, free baseball caps (signed by Factory KTM Red Bull riders) will be given to the first 100 people that come to its paddock display area who can prove they’re a KTM owner – Just bring a picture on your mobile or printed out!
On track, KTM’s Red Bull Factory riders are having another dominant season; in MX2, Jeffrey Herlings has won every race so far, wrapping up the title with three rounds to go on the KTM 250 SX-F. In MX1, Tony Cairoli leads the standings on the 350 SX-F with a commanding lead and could seal his seventh world title at Matterley.
The teams directly supported by KTM UK will be looking to translate their form in the domestic series on to the world stage. HM Plant KTM UK’s reigning British MX2 champion, Elliott Banks-Browne, is on course to retain his UK title and will be looking to entertain the British GP fans with some strong finishes, backed by his hard-charging teammates, brothers Nathan Watson (MX2) and Ben Watson (EMX250), along with Natalie Kane, currently 3rd in the Women’s Motocross World Championship (WMX).
For the Steve Turner Racing KTM team, Matiss Karro and Jonathan Barragan will be looking for a strong finish to the MX1 season, backed up by Adam Sterry in EMX250.
