Jumping Joe Ross

Jumping Joe Ross

The first round of the WRMXC Winter Series got underway at the newly revamped Grangemoor venue which was in near perfect condition despite the recent weather. This allowed for some great racing throughout the classes.

The display of the day came from young Joe Ross in the Auto class, who showed that as well as a general recent improvement in form, his jumping ability meant he was jumping a double that even some of the adults wouldn’t attempt!  This lead to two wins and a third, giving him the overall win on the day. Second went to Jack Grayshon with James King taking third.

A great three wins from three gave Harrison Burton the overall win in the 65 Class ahead of Patrick Jackson in Second and Harvey Ward in third.

Two wins and a second gave Regan Barraclough victory in the SW 85 class. Two second places and a third gave Ben Knight second overall, with Callum Crossland taking third.

The BW 85 class saw a great tussle at the top between Eddie Remmer and Jack Naylor, who battled hard all day in pursuit of the overall. Two first places and a second was enough for Remmer to edge it, just ahead of Naylor, with Joe Sutcliffe riding well to take third overall.

Cal Wardman made easy work of the Youth Open class, with three wins from three despite only just moving up from the BW 85 class. Aaron O Connor rode well for second overall, with Sam Dunn coming home third.

The C class went to Jason Jones, with Dan Wainwright taking second overall and Ash Senior taking third.

Ben Williams first place and two second places gave him the overall win in the B Class, with James Walker taking second overall and Graeme Bird taking third.

Rich Cannings put in a faultless display to take three wins from three for the victory in the A Class. Matt Stephenson rode well for second overall, with Merge Decals Jack Drogan putting in a great display on his first outing at Grangemoor to take third overall.

The Second Round of the Winter Series takes places  on the 13th November at Dalton near Thirsk. Be sure to book in early as it always proves to be a popular venue!
