Honda Xtreme Academy Nordic Challenge race announced

Honda Motor Europe is pleased to announce that the Honda Xtreme Academy Nordic challenge will once again be taking place in Sweden on the 17th of May 2012.

With an opportunity for the Nordic countries to come together and battle it out aboard CRF 150R machinery, this special race, which is running into its second year, aims to give young Honda riders the experience of racing on a more international level from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

The Honda Xtreme Academy is an initiative to help develop young riders racing nationally in each country aboard CRF 150R machinery, and it has an array of benefits including an extra special prize fund, recognition as a Honda rider, training with Brian Jorgensen and much, much more. The Academy is in its third year and has now grown into running events in eight different countries around Europe to benefit young racers as they make the first step on the racing ladder.

The Nordic challenge race invites competitors to battle it out aboard similar machinery and will take place at the Annebergs track near Gothenburg in Sweden on the 17th of May. Riders will compete for a £1,000 prize fund, which is exchangeable for Honda vouchers.

The entry fee for the event is only EUR25 and licenses are accepted from all Nordic countries. The race entry is for 30 riders with seven allocated places per country on a first come, first serve basis. Please visit for more information.

Roger Harvey: Honda Motor Europe Off-Road Manager
“Once again it’s great we can be offering another opportunity for the Nordic riders to come together and battle it out. Last year was a real success with entrants from around this region, all on CRF 150R fourstroke machinery in Sweden. It felt a little like a mini Grand Prix and the racing was close with the eventual winner being Jimmy Wicksell. I hope that we will get plenty of support for this event again and riders capitalize on the opportunity to race together on similar machinery.”
