Hail the new kings

Hail the new kings

So who is going to be the new kings of British motocross in 2008?

Will Billy and Brown keep their crowns, who knows but it’s going to be fun finding out.

This weekend will see the first round of the Maxxis British championship taking place at Donington Park, home of last year’s British GP.

After last week’s Hawkstone International a number of riders suffered untimely crashes, will this affect their title challenge?

Let’s take a look on whose fit for the job.

PAR Honda rider Jordan Rose had a huge crash in the first moto and looks set to sit out on the weekend with a broken hand and fractured skull, team mate Ray Rowson found himself airlifted to hospital with pains in his right leg, rumours are that Mike Brown damaged his thumb, Mark Hucklebridge bruised his ribs and Jason Dougan damaged his hand – nightmare!

Riders to watch without a doubt will be Shaun Simpson who is onfire so far this season, Tommy Searle is racing but possibly his only Maxxis appearance of the year, Molson’s Stephen Sword is back and looking at the title and Swift Suzuki’s Pascal Leuret makes his British debut on the factory Suzuki.

Billy Mackenzie is looking super confident on the Monster Energy CAS Honda, after last year’s disappointment at the British GP; Billy will be looking to erase the memory with a solid display.
MX1 is certainly going to be fun with Brad Anderson, James Noble, Mark Jones, Wayne Smith and new recruit to the class Tom Church all looking to wrestle the title away from Mackenzie’s grasp – will they do it, you best get yourself to Donington Park to find out.

Team MOTO will be there in full effect with the new race truck fully wrapped with the new team graphics – remember to pop by the truck and say hello to the team.
