Well this is it, the final round of the first GT Cup Series and what a Series it has been? The Series has proved to be popular throughout and we have managed to maintain numbers, which has provided some fantastic racing in all the classes.
This is especially true in the Auto Class. This is the first time that autos have been included in a national series and we were all a little apprehensive. We need not have worried, the riders have proved that they are up to this level of competition at the most demanding tracks and it has been the most enjoyable class to watch.
We have a lot of “Extras” planned for this meeting, starting with a concourse competition for the best presented bike and helmet taking place in the arena on Friday evening, following scrutineering. Prizes will be awarded in each class.
On Saturday various events are planned after racing has finished and a live band will make the evening swing. The presentation of event and series awards will take place in the marquee on Sunday and you are invited to stay over and go home on Monday.
The special prizes that have been donated by our sponsors will be awarded at the Dirt Bike Show, with free tickets being given to qualifying riders.
The BSMA has always been about the riders and the clubs and we hope that we have achieved our main aim of trying to show that we are up there with the best and we can only hope that you agree with us and want to do it all again next year. Registration forms for the GT Cup 2012 are now available from the secretary or can be down loaded from the BSMA website www.bsmamx.co.uk
There will be some places available in each class so why not join us for a weekend to remember.
