EKSSC Practice Day

EKSSC Practice Day

EKSSC’s first ever practice day went down a storm, with all the riders who turned up at the Staplehurst track. With the help of the committee members, parents and friends of the riders; the day ran like clockwork. Who would’ve thought it? That East Kent could keep running, when the heavy rain fall, which we keep having; tampered with both the GT CUP and the Red Bull Elite race meetings. Which both had to be postponed!

There were three practice groups running during the day which saw the adult bikes (125, 250 & 450’s) followed by the 85’s and 150 machines, riding on the main track. While the smaller bikes of the Autos and 65’s ran all day on a smaller oval track situated, up near the starting gate.

A number of riders had turned out in support; and to our surprise! They seemed to enjoy the muddy track, which was both demanding and challenging to say the least. As they slipped and slide their way round; you could hear the cries of laughter and frustration from the determined riders. Who were not going to be defeated?

The day seemed so relaxing indeed, even though some showers of rain tried to dampen the day. But that wasn’t going to stop the cheery atmosphere that was had by all. At this point a big thank you must go to the land owners at Staplehurst for agreeing to hold the venue at their track. Also thank you to the paramedics; for being there on hand and to the committee members who continue to support Chairman Mike MacGregor. Lastly a big thank you must go to all the parents/friends for all their help and to the riders and visitors who turn out and made the day complete.

Hold on one minute Mike! In return the riders would like to say a big thank you to you and also ask whens the next one?
